The active ingredient in bone meal, calcium phosphate, helps to carry all nutrients to the plant, except for nitrogen and potassium. Calcium also increases the cation exchange capacity of soils, making nutrients more available to microbial activity and ultimately to the plant. The addition of Herculean Harvest to any nutrient line will increase size, aroma and flavor of the plants’ fruit. Tip:
When growing fruit producing plants we have all been told to spend ten to fourteen days at the end of the plants life cycle flushing out any nutrient flavor that has occurred during the life of the plant. However, we find that this information is misleading. Once a plant is built and designed with a salt based fertilizer and all the cells in the stems, leaves and fruit have been built it is not an easy task to remove that flavor from a plant. Our customers have run many trials and have found that by feeding a calcium based regimen all the way through, with the last five to seven days feeding Herculean Harvest, Aphrodites Extraction, and Olympus Up as a sweetener, not only did the quality of fruit improve, but they also saw a yield increase. Plants need that last stage in their lives (fall) to translocate all the sugars that they worked so hard to make through photosynthesis during their life span and relocate them into the fruit. Herculean Harvest, Aphrodite’s Extraction and Olympus Up aid in this process while adding extra flavor.

Made in Denmark since 1969, horticultural stonewool is used the world over by both hydroponics and soil gardeners. Growers can start cuttings and even grow plants to maturity in this large Grodan Gro-Block or transfer it to a larger stonewool slab once roots have been established. Nutrifield Hydro Clay is a natural growing medium that contains no harmful or undesirable substances. Hydro Clay is inert – meaning that it has a neutral pH, is resistant to chemicals and will not break down easily.

Nutrifield Hydro Clay undergoes a number of transformations before being a usable growing medium. The process begins with pelletised clay that is fired in a rotary kiln at a very high temperature. During this process the organic compounds in the clay burn off, forcing the pellets to expand and become internally honeycomb like in structure; while the outside surface of each granule melts and is sintered. The final result is a ceramic like Nutrifield Hydro Clay pellet that is lightweight, porous and has a high crushing resistance.

Nutrifield Hydro Clay helps to prevent oxygen starvation to the plants root system. When a plants root system is starved of Oxygen the plants health suffers and growth rates decrease – this can be commonly attributed to over watering or an overly compacted growing medium. Due to the shape and structure of Nutrifield Hydro Clay, the Oxygen starvation can be prevented by keeping thousands of pathways open for the exchange of gases and drainage of water.

Nutrifield Hydro Clay can also help prevent root rot. This is again due to the increased Oxygen levels that the medium promotes. As a result aerobic bacteria are able to continue to breed and keep anaerobic bacteria at bay. Nutrifield Hydro Clay may also reduce algae, fungus gnats and unwanted weeds due to the surface of the top of the medium staying dry.

Nutrifield Hydro Clay can be blended with Nutrifield NF Premium Coco to create an impressive potting mix.
